Operations and Liaison Officer Role

Steer Incorporated is a charity that exists to help fund Christian missions and outreach organisations in Australia and worldwide more effectively. Since our foundation in 1962 Steer has distributed over $60 million. (Last year alone it was over $3m)

Steer aims to strengthen the causes that God has put on the hearts of mission supporters. We have a small and effective staff team offering a range of tax efficient giving options to ministry partners (supporters).

Reporting to the CEO this role will suit a team player with an eye for detail, and good problem solving ability along with the social and the interpersonal skills necessary for the effective implementation of the solutions. It is a 28 hour a week role spread over 4 days. There are no direct reports to this role.

The person will ideally possess the following key attributes:

  • A person who is in agreement with Steer’s vision values and ethos and with our working principles.
  • Ideally 5 or more years’ experience in administration,
  • A degree or equivalent work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or business
  • Able to work with limited supervision and be a team player.
  • An eye for detail
  • Superior listening and communication skills.
  • Confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  • MS Office
